LIVE Q&As
Most coaches charge anywhere from £100 to £500 per month for this kind of value.
But I decided to create one most musicians could afford for just £49/month.
Gökçe encouraged me to not let my doubts convince me I should stop performing.
My nerves were leading me that way and in the end I now identify a better way to approach those situations.
I'd come to a place where I was questioning whether I even was a performer as the nerves ruined it for me.
It turns out I 100% am, but need to be led by my values,
not fears.
— Jasmin H. (Voice Teacher & Performer)
If you've come this far, maybe you've tried a few things to 'get over' or 'get through' the fears and worries.
Things like...
-
Ignoring the negative thoughts and hoping they'll eventually fade away.
-
Engaging in positive affirmations and power poses to counteract the self-doubt.
-
Seeking validation and reassurance from others to boost your confidence.
-
Going to therapy sessions where the therapist can only offer general advice.
-
Pushing yourself harder, thinking that achieving greater success will finally silence the inner critic.
-
Trying meditation, yoga, hypnosis, herbal aids…and when all else fails, beta-blockers or a glass of wine — because that’s what everyone else does.
But... you are exhausted, aren't you?
You chose to be a musician because you love music and wanted to do what you love for a living — so when are you going to start enjoying it again?
It's time to explore a transformative solution that will empower you to reach your career goals as a musician (and have fun doing it!).
Here is what happens when you do that:
-
You rediscover your true values and start navigating your musical journey guided by the compass of your inner purpose.
-
Self-doubt and negative self-talk lose their power over you, giving you the mental space to take meaningful actions towards your goals without being overwhelmed.
-
Performance anxiety no longer holds you back; instead, you'll step onto the stage with confidence and excitement.
-
Procrastination and overthinking will no longer stand in your way, allowing you to focus on what truly matters — making impactful music.
-
You'll discover the freedom to express yourself authentically without the weight of impostor syndrome.
But most importantly, you'll regain the joy and passion that led you to pursue music in the first place.
Here's the best part:
We will be building this program together — this is why it is like a 6-month group coaching program, but with a low membership price.
You will get a lot of one-on-one attention from me, and I am hoping to witness your incredible artistic growth and the rediscovery of joy in your musical journey.
You will also have the chance to provide feedback, suggestions and input that can help shape the program into something that better meets your needs.
This opportunity is limited to a select group of musicians who join now — this level of individualised work with me will not be available at this price point ever again.
Plus, even if the price increases later on, you will stay as a legacy member at the lowest price until you cancel.
£49/month for minimum 6 months.
Cancel anytime after the initial period.
Hi, I'm Gökçe.
For many years, I thought that taking more lessons, finding new teachers, practising every day and soaking up every science-based voice model would bring me closer to having perfect technique — which would lessen the fear of being judged on stage.
But the self-doubt and performance nerves did not go away, no matter how much I practised or performed.
So I decided to teach instead.
Over the years, I saw far too many brilliant, sensitive, inspiring artists who were struggling to survive in overly competitive environments with training that can sometimes cross the abusive line. I saw them losing their love for music, their self-esteem and confidence in their abilities, and heard them wondering — just as I had — if they were not cut out for the job and should quit before things got worse…
It wasn’t until I studied coaching and voice pedagogy that I realised these symptoms were pointing to a bigger issue – one that would not lessen despite endless hours in the practice room.
I realised three things:
-
This is not what music is about. This is not the return that our art and craft should give us.
-
The mental and emotional dimensions of a performing career are often overlooked and underserved in traditional music education.
-
There is serious stigma around performance anxiety and confidence issues among musicians, leading many struggling artists to feel alone and suffer in silence — because if we don’t hide it, we risk judgement from peers and the industry.
I firmly believe that anxiety, worries and fears should not be an inevitable burden that comes with being a music professional.
This is why I spent the past 6 years studying different coaching approaches.
Here's what I learned:
All the self-doubt, catastrophizing, inability to focus, avoiding auditions, or not practising till the very last minute?
In performing arts circles, you might have been told that you lack resolve, willpower, and self-discipline.
They make you feel broken. And it hurts.
But you are not broken. You are just stuck in unhelpful patterns.
Yet, I couldn’t find a mental and emotional development program that would help me (or my students) without a lot of technical jargon or New Age mysticism.
So I decided to create it.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is coaching?Coaching is a process of planned learning and development. Basically, it is about getting you from Point A to B, while clarifying what Point B should look and feel like. This can look like identifying where you are stuck and discovering your values as a performing artist so you can complete your performance degree or take the next gig, to achieving personal goals like more self-compassion, better boundaries or improved relationships so you have more mental and emotional space for your art.
-
What does a coach do?Basically, the role of the coach is to facilitate self-discovery, help you define your goals, and to add value to your life or to radically transform it. A coach is not a consultant — a credible coach would not try to solve your problems for you. You are the expert of your life, not the coach. Instead, coaching is about empowering you with the necessary tools and skills to overcome challenges on your own. Otherwise, you would become dependant on the coach for life. My job is for you to not need me anymore!
-
Is coaching the same as therapy? Are you a therapist? The short answer is no and no. The long answer is; even thought coaching is often mistaken for therapy, they are fundamentally different — but they can complement each other well. Therapy generally has a past and present focus, looking for the root of certain behavioural patterns before changing them. On the other hand, coaching is all about the present and the future. It may touch on your past experiences to identify and remove limiting beliefs, but in the end, the focus is on what you can do “here and now” to build the future you want. You may choose to support your development with therapy in addition to coaching. However, I am not a therapist.
-
How does coaching actually work?It all begins with a thorough assessment of where you (as a musician, performer, or speaker) are now and where you want to be at the end of the coaching programme. While the procedure might look the same for everyone — with an initial consultation, regular sessions and some homework — the content varies greatly. In all 1-on-1 coaching programs, we will then map out a bespoke plan with a set number of sessions, defined outcomes and a timeline. Programmes can include individual coaching sessions, access to pre-recorded materials and online reference books, worksheets, webinars, workshops and ongoing support. No two clients are the same. So it all depends on you and your goals.
-
What are your qualifications as a coach?I hold the following International Coach Federation (ICF) accredited certificates: - 99-hours Intensive Jungian Coaching Training - 80-hours Life Coaching Training Program - 80-hours Student Coaching Training Program - 24-hours Mastership In Executive Coaching For Coaches
-
Does this only work for singers or instrumentalists? No, this works for all kinds of performing artists, from hobbyists and aspiring musicians to musical theatre actors, songwriters and composers.
-
What are your ethical responsibilities as a coach? As a coach trained by International Coach Federation (ICF)'s standards, I abide by their Code of Ethics.
-
What about confidentiality?Everything discussed in the sessions will be entirely confidential and between me and you (unless otherwise agreed). The only reason I would break confidentiality is if I feel that the person is going to do some harm to themselves or to someone else. In that case, I might be obligated to notify others.
-
Can we work online?Yes! All coaching sessions can take place over video calls (Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, etc.) and because I want to be there for you every step of the way, we will also stay in touch via email and messages. This way I can be your accountability partner and cheerleader too!
-
How much does it cost? The 1-on-1 coaching packages are currently at a highly discounted price until the end of 2022. You can choose from a single payment of £999, or 2 monthly payments of £500. Individual sessions for coaching on topics you wish to cover (performance skills, career decisions, personal growth, etc.) cost £119 for 90 minutes. The Self-Discovery Session to discover your best-fit personality type costs £199 for 90 minutes, plus online access to InterStrength books “An Introduction to Interaction Styles”, “Exploring Essential Motivators”, “The Sixteen Personality Types” and “An Introduction to the Personality Type Code” By Linda V. Berens and Dario Nardi. All other programmes are bespoke and highly tailored to you and/or your business specifically, which means the costs vary. This is because rather than using the same plan with all clients, I thoroughly consider your specific needs and goals when designing a customised programme.
-
How can I pay? Most clients prefer to pay using Paypal or by credit card, but direct bank deposit is also possible. Feel free to contact me to discuss your situation and options.
-
What is an FAQ section? An FAQ section can be used to quickly answer common questions about your business like "Where do you ship to?", "What are your opening hours?", or "How can I book a service?".
-
Why do FAQs matter?FAQs are a great way to help site visitors find quick answers to common questions about your business and create a better navigation experience.
-
Where can I add my FAQs?FAQs can be added to any page on your site or to your Wix mobile app, giving access to members on the go.

How effective is ACT for performance anxiety?Even though it is a budding field, the existing literature is very promising. ACT was found to be even more effective than Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for public speaking anxiety in a 2016 study. Additionally, ACT was trialled by clinical psychologists and music teachers alike for its effectiveness on music performance anxiety. In most of these studies, participants experienced significant improvements in their performance anxiety symptoms and their performance quality. This includes my MA project as well!

What is EFT / TFT tapping?EFT and its predecessor TFT originate from the discovery of stimulating acupressure points in the 1970s. It has been found that tapping certain points on the head, face, torso and hands can help with stress, anxiety, fear, phobias, depression, PTSD and even chronic pain.
-
What do EFT / TFT stand for?EFT means Emotional Freedom Technique and TFT stands for Thought Field Therapy.
-
How effective is tapping?Like other methods, it is not a panacea with a 100% success rate. But it has been found to be a reliable method for reducing stress, especially when combined with other tools. For example, some studies on student anxiety, high stakes test anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and public speaking anxiety found that EFT was an effective method of reducing anxiety, most of their gains made after the sessions were held over time in the follow-up assessments, and that EFT skills were transferrable to other contexts.
-
What is your qualification as an EFT / TFT Tapping Practitioner?I hold an EFT / TFT Tapping Practitioner Certification from a Complementary Therapists Accredited Association (CTAA) accredited course.

What is personality type / typology? It is a popular model to explain commonalities and differences in thoughts, feelings and behaviour of people, consisting of sixteen main themes. This aspect of ourselves is said to be innate, that we are all born with a tendency to think, feel and act in certain ways. This is our core, our true self. Sometimes, our true self is supported by the environment and our relationships. Other times, we have to adapt and develop other sides of ourselves to fit in or cope with the environment. Knowing your true self allows you to discover and work with, not against, your strengths while giving you a chance to see your blindspots and to work on your weaknesses. This awareness radically changes the way you understand and communicate with others, in addition to having an idea of how to develop your personal and professional life in accordance with your values and preferences.
-
What is the InterStrength™ Approach to personality type?Even though there are quite a few models of personality type, my preferred approach is the multiple lens model developed by Dr. Linda V. Berens. Instead of handing you a 4-letter code and sending you on your way, this method focuses on building self-awareness and realignment with your true self. It is focused on development, rather than labelling and boxing people. A type code does not mean much unless it provides insights to which steps to take next on your developmental journey. Multiple typology lenses also mean that you can accurately identify your best fit type through triangulation, reducing measurement errors of typology tests.
-
How can type help my performance and career?Once you gain awareness of your true self, you are then able to: - Realign with your core values and meet your core needs better to lead a fulfilling life, - See how overusing your natural strengths can in fact be counterproductive, - Gain a better understanding of your blind spots and preferred ways of interacting with others so that you can become a more effective manager and team leader, as well as developing your self-leadership, self-confidence, time management and communication skills.
-
Is this even based on science and facts? Some of it is soft science, based on patterns and themes observed by numerous practitioners over millenia; from Hippocrates in 450 BC to Ernst Kretschmer, Eduard Spränger and Carl Jung in the 20th century, to David Keirsey and Linda Berens today. They focused on dispositions, whole type patterns as well as traits and parts of personality. This long history has provided us with a strong foundation to believe these patterns are part of our makeup. For those interested in "real" science, Dario Nardi has been researching neuroscience of personality, using real-time EEG technology to look at how personality types correlate to brain wiring in different people. Definitely check out his books if you wish to get geeky.
-
What are your qualifications as a Personality Type Practitioner?I am a certified Jungian Coach and also an InterStrength™ Self-Discovery Practitioner since 2021. Certification programs I attended include InterStrength™ lenses: Cognitive Dynamics™ Interaction Styles™ Essential Motivators™
-
Can you tell me what my type is?Yes and no. Well, kind of. Even though I am a certified Self-Discovery Practitioner, I’m not the expert on your type preferences. You are. So my job here is to give you information and to answer your questions as you make informed decisions. Instead of telling you what your type is, what I do is to help you learn about personality preferences so you can understand yourself and others. But based on your story and , I will help you narrow your type down to a few options. Then you can read and learn more about those patterns and try them on to find your best fit.
-
Will you give me a test to find my type? No. Personality tests are usually measuring dichotomies like Introversion/Extraversion, Sensing/Intuition, Thinking/Feeling and Judging/Perceiving. This approach is deceptively simple but it can lead to stereotyping and misidentification. Tests focusing on identifying cognitive processes can also lead to mistyping since we are only aware of certain parts of our personality. Much of ourselves are hidden in our unconscious. Truthfully, personality type is way too complex to be measured correctly using an online test or other instrument, because most people have strong developed and contextual selves that can mask their true selves. Which is why a Self-Discovery process is much more reliable and insightful.
-
How much does it cost? The Self-Discovery Session to discover your best-fit personality type costs £199 for a 90-minute session and includes online access to InterStrength books “An Introduction to Interaction Styles”, “Exploring Essential Motivators”, “The Sixteen Personality Types” and “An Introduction to the Personality Type Code” By Linda V. Berens and Dario Nardi.
£49/month for minimum 6 months.
